This morning I preached a sermon using 4 chairs to illusrate where each of us have been at least some time in our life spiritually. Either we didn't want God and could care less or we now love God and want to know Him more. Or, we are somewhere stuck in the middle. Non-Christians use sin to meet their basic human needs. Christians are supposed to use Christ to meet their basic human needs. What happens when a born again Christian reverts to using sin to meet their needs rather than Christ? Can a true Christian continue to use sin to meet the needs that Christ is supposed to? Can we even call this person a Christian? Can a person lose his or her salvation? Or, did they ever have it to begin with? Wouldn't this make it impossible to lose something one never had in the first place?
Just a few questions I have swirling in my head after this morning's sermons. I seemed to hit home with a few and maybe completely confused others. Let me know what you think.
